2019 - The First Light Festival is a new and exciting festival for Lowestoft celebrating local and international culture it will serve as focal point for the ongoing Lowestoft South Beach Vision project and wider regeneration plans. The aim of the festival is to promote arts, culture and heritage in the town through a 24hr multi-arts music festival to be held on the south beach, promenade and surrounding area.

Through this project you will have the opportunity to explore design concepts for creating temporary structures and transforming existing spaces that will be used to provide safe and clearly defined areas for younger children and families during the festival. You will be expected to develop a clear and concise rational for your proposals based around key design factors such as the location, climate, material and construction limitations as well as ecological and sustainable considerations.
