2025 - The Family House in Horta, Faial, is a historic residence built in 1927 and renovated in 2006, perched atop Conceição Hill with stunning views of Horta’s harbour and Pico Island, Portugal’s tallest mountain. The house functions as both a seasonal family home and a vacation rental. In response to increasing visitor numbers and the need to accommodate a growing family during summer, the property seeks to renovate an existing outhouse attached to the outdoor kitchen (with wood oven) to provide additional living accommodation.
Create Functional Accommodation:
Transform the current outhouse/storage area into a compact yet comfortable living space suitable for a couple, or up to a small family of four.
Ensure privacy and independence while maintaining a connection to the main house and shared outdoor areas.
Preserve Outdoor Spaces:
